Yamil was stuck without a permanent home for a while after leaving The Five Stripes. He played a full year on loan in 2018 with DC United, making 31 appearances, scoring 9 goals, providing 5 assists, and earning one Yellow. But after the loan, he returned to Velez and only made one appearance for the club. It wasn’t until 2020 that Yamil found a full transfer to DC United.
